My automatic needs a clutch!

Here's the problem......2001 F-150 4.2L V-6, auto trans - all stock, 1800 miles.
Whenever I stop, I've got to REALLY stand on the brakes to come to a full stop......it's like a manual tranny that you don't push in the clutch the last 20 feet or so. The motor shudders, lugs, then eases off (Like pushing in the clutch). It's not as bad when engine warms up, but still there.
Other than that, truck runs fine.
1. What is it? (TC not unlocking?)
2. How do I get it fixed (I know, warranty. But, what will cure this?)
Gimme some ideas! Thx.

I'd say it's a sensor. My manual dosen't do that if I don't push in the clutch. My breaks work good enough to kill the engine in gear, not that I would do that. I'm no expert, but the way you discribe it, it definitley sounds like a sensor to me.

Good luck!

Tom
