Can't get into 1st gear at stop.

Ounce in a while, usually in the mornings AFTER my truck is warmed up, if I come to a stop and put it in neutral, I have a hard time getting back into 1st when the light turns green. I have to really get rough with it sometimes before it goes in. It will however slip right into all the other gears.
Any ideas on why or how to fix it?

Try going from neutral to second, then to first.

on my roomates chevy truck, you have to go neutral to 5th then to reverse to get it into reverse.... the neutral-2nd-1st idea is about the same i guess...

btw you cant do that 5th-rev on fords since there is a lockout.
