Hydraulic line disconnect

Can anyone tell me how to disconnect the hydraulic clutch line from a '92 F-150 5 speed transmission? The transmission is an M5R2.

You need a special hydraulic line quick disconnect tool. Try your local auto parts store. It will probably only run you a couple bucks.

got one better than that !!! take a flat head screw driver , usually 2 work better . push the white plastic ring in toward the trans - until you barely see it , then give a little tug and it should come out .....

Yeah, I'm having a problem with my '93. 4.9L with M5OD-r2, btw. Clutch pedal began to stick while it was running. I couldn't shift it. Turned it off, and it shifted into all gears fine. I put it in first and cranked it, and lurched it slowly back home. With it not running, the pedal works fine, and it shifts fine. Not so much when it runs. My question is, is this a simple bleed procedure, or something more serious. I'm praying it's nothing requiring removal of the tranny. I got a master cylinder just in case, but got the tool you mentioned and still can't get the line off. Hopefully the flathead screwdrivers will do it. aside from that, I haven't figured out how to disconnect the master cylinder. The thing frustrates me. Low money, no space, and need to get it running again soon.

Just so you know, you are the first one to post in this thread in 12 years.

You most likely have a stuck pilot bearing, requires tranny removal.

^^^ Isn't it amazing how old this site is? Sheesh... I remember it when I was back in high school... and I had to go on here for my '99, don't think I posted anything, and if I did, God only knows what username I had... but in any case time sure does fly.
