Torque Converter related to chip?
Torque Converter related to chip?
I put my chip back in my truck recently. It hasn't been driven much since t hen. Saturday I replaced spark plugs and rear differential fluid. Saturday night, when I drove it on the freeway, anytime I'd let off the gas from like 70 or so, it was almost like the transmission would downshift, but it wasn't. Could it have been the torque converter trying to lockup or unlock? Is there any tie between my superchip and the torque converter. I never had that problem before when I had the chip in. Any sugestions?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I haven't had my chip out since I put it in but I think you're right. It sounds like the TQ unlocking which should be normal. I'm not sure if the chip actually controls the behavior of the TQ though.
Is this ok?
So is this condition ok? I haven't driven it much since I got it back from the body shop. I replaced the plugs and the differential fluid and drove it about 100 miles. I just have some eerie feelings about having to replace a tranny and tq. Technically there shouldn't be anything wrong at 72k. There better not be cause I plan on driving it well past 200.
In the meantime, I'm running the in-law-to-be's beater car. A '91 Grand Am! Woohoo! I feel like a sex machine in that! Rusty doors, worn out struts, and everything. It even has more rattles than my truck.
