2000 Mustang 4R70W into ‘04 F150
Hey, so I already saw a thread regarding this topic but it had to do with a older mustang gen. I recently purchased a 2000 mustang 4r70w trans for a great price and swapped it into my F150, did a test drive, came out of parking, reversed, neutral, drive all worked, but it will not come out of 1st gear. Now, when I was swapping it into the truck I noticed the original trans has 2 sensors from my understanding are the input and output shaft sensors, the mustang only has one. Could this be why the truck will not come out of 1st gear? All other plugs from the harness were plug and play, i’m just missing one single plug and it is the one closest to the shift linkage. Will take pictures for comparison tomorrow. Any information on the topic will be greatly appreciated on what can be done.

Incompatible transmission. The output shaft is completely different. Read this thread:
https://www.f150online.com/forums/tr...-2004-fx4.html You might be able to get it to work with a custom tune but getting a compatible transmission is the right way to do it. |

As to getting a new drop in compatible transmission, how difficult on a scale of 1-10 would it be to rebuild the original transmission? |
