Hey everyone, I’m new to the page, but I have a quick question for anyone that can help me out? I have an 07 f150 xlt with a 5.4l motor and 4r75e transmission. My transmission recently kicked the bucket and I’ve found a used transmission on Facebook marketplace for 400 bucks.
I was told that the transmission replacement HAD to come from an 07-08 f150. The new trans came from an 05. Could I still use it? The guy I got it from said it would still work, gave me a story that he used a transmission from an 07 and bolted it to a 4.6 motor and it worked fine. Just wanna get some real answers before this new trans goes in the truck. Can anybody help me?

 

Yes, it will work as long as it's same drive system - 2wd or 4wd. You may have to make minor mods to the electronics.
