4r70w interchangable?

Hello everyone, I have a 95 f-150 with the 5.0L v8(EFI) and 4R70W trans, it needs a new one, I've got a good lead on a low miles transmission out of a v6 3.8L 1999 mustang, also a 4R70W, does anyone know if these are interchangeable? any simple modifications to make it work? thanks in advance

If your truck is a 2wd it will bolt in but the electronics are different. The only direct interchange is a 4R70W out of a 1994 or 1995 F150.

can plugs just be repinned or there's nothing to do about it but just get the one out of a truck?

I don't know how involved it would be to make it work. Remember your truck is OBD1 and the Mustang is OBD2.

NOthing new on this? I have a similar issue.. 94 F150 5.0 4R70W and now installing a 99 4r70W... is there more than two different ways to do the swap? One seems to repin the harness to use the black connector, but that doesn't address the TCC solenoid having a different resistance than the original 94 TCC solenoid.. DO you just swap the tcc from the 94 into the 99 trans and use the soft harness in the trans with the white connector?

The only 99 4R70W that will bolt in to a 94 F150 with a 5.0 is one out of a 4.2 V6 F150 with the same drive system (2wd or 4wd). If it's 2wd a Mustang V6 transmission will bolt in using the truck shift mechanism.
