Did they do trans filter & fluid?

Went to local Ford dealer for wheel alignment and transmission filter & fluid change. Prior to the work beginning, I told the service advisor “ I want trans filter and fluid changed”, no less than 3x he was told this. When they were finished my bill said “transmission fluid flush”. I asked him again about the filter. He said yes it was done, new filter $42. Now, I wasn’t about to crawl under at the dealership to check. This guy told me 4x’s now that filter for transmission was replaced.
Doesn’t look that way to me:

Interesting... it'll get sorted out.

That’s a great idea. Wednesday 3pm for transmission filter. We’ll see.

Called the service writer who said he would have to charge me for the filter. Immediately emailed the service manage. He emailed me back in minutes to say he will talk to the service writer and do the work (transmission filter & fluid) at no cost. He did, however, point out that these types of filters rarely require replacement and that a flush is adequate to clear the screen of debris…
that point is moot as I asked for the filter and fluid.

He is correct. There should be no need to drop the pan. However, a chemical flush is not that great for the transmission, an exchange using a machine is the right way to do it.

Thanks glc. I wish the service writer explained that to me instead of ignoring me.

To add to the fire, they shouldn't have charged the money for the filter then. -- Sorry I had to point that out.

If you're in or near Tecumseh, OK, they have a top notch transmission shop there. It's worth the drive.
