Torque converter

I have an 02 5.4 4x4 f150. It started as the infamous suffer when barely accelerating on the highway got worse. One day something changed it’s like the truck gained 50 hp but a big vibration at highway speeds. I think the lockup has been sticking in the torque converter and is coming apart. I dropped pan nothing significant in the pan. I dropped the tranny. The question I have is does anyone know if I can just change the converter and the tcc Solenoid and a complete flush to fix it. Or do you think the vibration could have messed up something else in tranny? (It made the rear main seal go out). Just wondering if anyone has run into this or has any advice don’t really have the money to rebuild it.

I would get a rebuilt converter and tranny. At some point, you might be in deeper than you think. I've seen rebuilds end up costing as much as a refurb along with time that you'll never get back.

I'd call around your local area. Also, I know that some on here will recommend some good places.

yeah it would probably be the best thing. Is there any way I can check to see if the converter was the problem just for peace of mind?
