ATTN: GAH...questions
I was looking over some posts about tranny temp gauges and stuff and was reading a post you had replied to. It had pics of your gauges and also manifolds for tranny and engine coolant.
Question 1: What type gauges do you have?
Question 2: Is it possible to make a manifold for the tranny like you did for the coolant out of parts you can buy locally? If so what do I need?
Questions 3: How did you make the one for the coolant temp?
Question 4: How did you get the oil pressure temp? What would I need?
Thanks. If you need to e-mail me feel free to @ SCOOBY14B@AOL.com

Scooby:
I sold my F-150 to make way for a 350 DRW PSD that I ordered back in early August but I'll help you out as much as I can.
1. I had mechanical Autometer gauges.
2/3. Yes you can make a manifold for the trans temp sender and the water temp sender. For the trans you'll need two 5/16" compression fittings to NPT, a 1/2" pipe tee (the sender is 1/2" NPT), and probably a 1/4" to 1/2" NPT fitting unless you can find a tee with two 1/4" and one 1/2" NPT female. The coolant manifold is easier in that 1/2" NPT to 3/4" hose barb are common.
4. Do you mean oil pressure or oil temp? I bought a machined oil filter spacer with an 1/8" NPT port on it. It came with a fitting that screws onto the oil filter nipple, leaving a new nipple exposed for the filter. An o ring between the spacer and the block prevents any leaks. I removed the factory op sender and installed it in the spacer port. Then I connected a braided ss line to a fitting that I screwed into the factory port. The other end of the line attaches to the op gauge. As for oil temp, I never got around to hooking the sender up. I was planning on installing an Amsoil Bypass filter and plumbing the oil temp sender into it.
I hope this helps.
