Slip and thud when accelerating and hard breaking

Slip and thud when accelerating and hard breaking

05 5.4 ex cab 6.5’ bed 74k miles. When accelerating, drive train has slack feels like drive shaft but no slack in u-joints. Hit the gas and it it thuds and take off. Feels exactly like splines May have slack but I’m stumped.. all other threads have to do with a “clunking noise” I don’t seem to have that. Thanks

Pull the driveshaft and lube the slip yoke with Teflon grease. Check the rear axle mounts.
