Changed out trans fluid
I just changed out my trans fluid and transfer case fluid.
All I have to say is that the stuff was nasty. I have the 5spd. Which was rebuilt less than 10,000 miles ago. When they rebuit it I had them put Amsoil in it.
It was still nasty. I think that this is the worse transmission that ford has ever put out.
Though now after refilling with Amsoil it does shift noticeably better. Though still not great!
I haven't touched the transfer case since new(I have 30K)on the truck. That stuff was pretty bad too. Very dark.
The last thing left for me to change over to Amsoil is the differentials. I'm sure that is going to be a rude awakening too. I dont' expect it to look much better than the trans!
I'll be putting 75w90 front and back. Hopefully now I be able to get over 15 mpg! We will see
