I'm new to the forum. I have recently pulled and disassembled my transmission. There are enough broken hard parts that I'm planning to buy a used one. I've got a 2001 4x4 automatic with 5.4l. The id tag on the transmission is 1L3P-JA. I've found a few transmissions with id tags 1L3P-LA and was wondering if anyone knows what the difference between the J revision and L revision is.

I was also wondering if it is possible to put a 4r100 into this vehicle. If so, does anyone know of a walk thru available?

So I've done a little more research on switching to a 4r100 and that is no longer an option (too much moolah :-)

 

Any 01-03 4R70W out of a 4x4 F150 should work fine.
