Will a 4r75e replace my 4r75w
Will a 4r75e replace my 4r75w
Long story short got a 04 new style f150 for pennies on the dollar with a bad trans. No overdrive. Losing 2nd. Its a 2wd 4r75w. Reason I bought it is because I just parted out my 07 that was totaled by insurance and I bought it back. So I had a 4r75e in my garage.
New truck came home tonight and didnt know it was a 4r75w till I got under it, thought it was a 4r75e.
I have searched and searched. Seen this question asked but no real world experiences. Just answers as "it should work"
Can my 07 4r75e go into my 04 f150 with a 4r75w and a direct bolt in? Is it plug and play? Anyone actually done it?
Awesome site by the way. Learned a few things already from here!!

4R75W and 4R75E are the same transmissions, Ford just changed the designation.
and yes, it will bolt in... The 2007 transmission has some upgraded internals (high carbon OD band and stronger snap ring to hold the mechanical diode one way clutch in place)
