Overdrive servo clip help
hey guys need help, sitting in the garage now and pulled the pan on tranny took the bus bar relays n such out dropped the valve body and a spring and something else fell out, along with a little screen, i've done some extensive research on these servo clips and replacing them and what not, but....never saw anything about the screen, spring or other piece of medal. seems to fit well in one place under the truck just not sure how to clip it back in. any help will be suuuuper appreciated! also i'd add a picture....but apparently i suck with technology and can't figure it out
This is the most informative thread and will show the location of the screen. I held mine in with dielectric grease upon reassembly.

As for the spring and other piece you are referring to I assume you mean the OD servo piston and spring. A spring normally doesn't fall out once the valvebody is removed but if the snap ring was broken enough the whole unit will fall out.

yea I Fixed The Clip, Servo Was Still Held up. ended Up Getting It Back Together, Still Unsure Why The One Piece And Spring Came Out. With The Valve On The Ground Its The One To The Right Of The Servo, Still unsure What Its Function IS. But its Back Together Now. No Split Ring Holds This Up Either. Seems To Just Lay In There.
sounds like the 2-3 servo cover and spring fell out, which not uncommon.
bend the 3 tabs out slightly with some pliers, insert the spring then push the cover back in place.
According to Mark K. the screen can be left out, The factory installs it to catch any shavings or debris from the manufacturing process. I leave the screen in place since it keeps most debris from going directly to the pump. use some Vaseline or grease to hold t in place.
