What might be the problem if the tranny takes it's time going into rev. It also seems like ( when in rev.) the power train wants to tighten up. It doesn't want to back-up as freely as in the pass. There has also been some noises that I have never hear before too. ( These noises don't happen all the time.) Forward seems to be working fine.

Thanks in advance,

The only time I've had a similar issue is with a 73 Cougar with C6 transmission that was over 10 yrs old. The transmission shop told me the seals were getting hard and it was taking longer to pump up the pressure, nothing to worry about. this was backing out of the driveway the first time in the morning. I asked about using seal softener such as Trans X. They recommended against that saying that the softener didn't know when to quit softening. Your problem may be entirely different.

On a side note, I put a little Trans X in the power steering pump on another car to stop a leak at the pump shaft seal. It stopped the leak immediately. A year later, all of the seals and hoses were eaten up. I had to replace the pump, hoses and steering box all because of that Trans X. I learned the hard way that if you do use seal softener, flush it out as soon as it does its job.
