Strange lurching

F150 XLT 2006 screw 70,000 miles. Triton 5.4 L When driving about 35-40 mph transmission kinda lurches once of twice. Seems to be at the same shift points and speed. Checked tranny fluid level, looks like its a tad over the fill line. I had the level checked last time it was in at the dealer...they said it was fine. Started doing this last month and seems to be getting more noticable. Any ideas ?? Should I have the tranny flushed ? Truck has the original plugs in it. Runs great other than this weird tranny anomaly

need more info. is it before, during or after it shifts? and always at the same speed (gear change)? warm and cold? uphill or downhill? plugs is a misfire that youll most likely feel at higher speeds and lower rpms when you try giving it a little gas

70k is time for spark plugs and a tranny fluid exchange if it's never been done. It's most likely a low grade misfire.

Seems after shifts, when warm, always at the same speed. on straight streets. Based on the opinions here it is most likely a misfire. Because It happens when i'm giving it gas. I will have to save up some to get the plugs replaced. I think dealer quoted 450.00, and not sure if that will cover any broken ones.

Thank you all for your input

ya that sounds more like plugs not tranny. shop around and find dealers with the best price but also the most experience. i ended up traveling 35 miles each way to have mine done but the dealer charged 325, including new plugs, no matter how many old ones they broke, plus a fuel treatment the day before. turns out all the dealers in the area sent their plug jobs there..

I just visited one of the local Ford dealerships and spoke to the Service Dept and was quoted $329 to change the plugs and the price would not change if they break any plugs. I am planning to take the truck there tomorrow morning.

That's a relatively good deal.

Considering I have neither the time or personal knowledge of doing this myself I thought it was a pretty good deal as well.
