Torque Converter lock question

Hello everybody, I have a 2007 f150 fx4 CC with the 5.4.and 3.73 gears and 285 tires and EDGE Evolution. I was towing my friends four-door jeep yesterday and I noticed some odd shifting. I turned off overdrive and the torque converter would lock in third gear. As I started up a hill in 3rd gear with the T/C locked it started lugging and then downshifted to second and the torque converter stayed locked. The only way it would unlock is if I let off the gas. Is this normal?

Thanks, Jack

Have you tried returning to the stock tune? Your Edge may be fubar.

It's not normal if it's to that extreme.
