I have an 2007 5.4 engine that did not have the towing package, but it does have a stock 5 plate trans cooler. Since I plan on towing a 5-6K trailer, is it worthwhile to swap the 5 plate trans cooler for a stock 9 plate cooler (which looks like it will use the existing tubing and connectors), or go to an after market cooler, or just run with the existing cooler?

#1...install a temp gauge and then decide what your truck needs. Will help you make an educated decision instead of throwing parts at it.
