I have a 2004 F150 with the tow package. I have always towed anything and everything with the overdrive off.

I JUST purchase a light 14 foot boat and wondered if there are any guidelines on towing weights and when overdrive is an absolute no.

I have no problem with no overdrive- just curious if I am being too cautious.

You can try towing in overdrive, but if the torque converter keeps unlocking and/or it keeps downshifting, it would be best to turn OD off.
