Question Need help on 4R100 trans and transfer case

The problem I have is a eratic speedo needle (which bounces around like crazy) and the trans. shifts very hard (especially from 1st-2nd) and no cruise control. From what the service guy told me, I have a bad speed sensor. There's 4 of them: one in each front wheel, on the rear diff., and supposedly on the transfer case. But in my situation, I don't have one on the outside on the transfer case. All I have is a plug cover on the hole. He said it may be internal.
Is this true? I don't want to wait 1.5 weeks to take my truck in. If I can find where it's at; I can take care of the problem myself.

There are two sensors on the tranny, one on the case itself near the bell, and one on the extension housng. The forward one is the TSS (turbine speed sensor) and the rear one is the OSS (output speed sensor). Actually, they're the same part F81P-7M101-AB, they're about $8 parts I think. You can replace it yourself, just unplug it and an 8mm bolt holds it in.

Hope this helps,

G
