hey guys, I have a buddy with an 88 f150 4x4 auto, and we wanna make it. 5 spd....I am doing the same to my '02 and we found a '01 v6 parts truck,where he will have the tranny since same bolt pattern as his engine and I will get a wiring harness and manual t-case out of it since I already have my v8 m5od for my yr truck......

What I have heard and I can't find info on it, is that the input shafts are different lengths from the 97+ m5od's compared to the earlier 96 and lower ones....anyone able to confirm this or if so can I just direct bolt this tranny to his 5.0????
