Gear shift indicator gone

I have had my 2011 F150 Ecoboost almost a year now and at times it showed the numbers 1-6 on the dash with a highlight showing what gear I was in at the time. First it was there then it was gone and later came back. Now its gone again. Is there a setting that does that or something is wrong?

If it's under warranty take it in. Doesn't sound normal to me.

If you are hitting the shift up/down button on the side of the shifter to shift up, it will cycle the gear selection display on and off when you are in automatic mode.

Thanks!
I knew there was a trick to it somewhere that I could not find. I still need to take it in sometime this week and have it looked at. It looked like either fresh clean oil or transmission fluid that was all over the bottom of the area where you drain the oil. It would have helped if they would have put a dipstick in it.
I did tale it back later to have kwikar and have them drain some oil out. It showed that the oil level was way too high on the dipstick. they could have left it messy.
