Thinking of beefy tranny's for towing. 5r110's are great transmissions and can take a load of abuse. They come in the 05-10 superdutys. I really don't see why it would not work. Get the harness and computers from a 5.4 3v superduty and go from there. Might have to modify the tranny mount, and get custom driveshafts, but that's far from difficult.

The transfer case might be an issue. Superdutys use the nv273 (esof) and I'm unsure what t-case we have in our 04-08 f150s(anyone know?) I have acces to the 5.4 3v, tranny, computers, harness, and t-case.
