i have an 05 Lariat SCREW 4x4 with 115,500 miles and lately I've been having problems with the trans (i think). Every now and then (about once a month) when accelerating from a dead stop ill get a shudder and then the truck kicks and its back to normal. And last week i noticed that it slipped for the first time, i was driving at about 35 mph and let off the accelerator and when i tapped it again the rpms shot up to about 3000, i let off and and it drove well the rest of the day. I had the fluid changed about 600 miles ago. Also for about 3 days when i was at around 50 mph i would feel a kick sorta when i pressed on the gas (this was before i had the fluid changed). What do you guys think i should do? should i try the Lucas Stop slip first? any idea on how much trans work would cost? and if it completely goes out is it better to replace or rebuild? is there anything else it could be?
