'99 XLT EC Auto trans fyi
Just an FYI for everyone in here.
My 4spd electronic auto trans would shift in to 2nd real hard every now and then. Then the check engine light came on, reset computer by dissconecting the batt. Light came back on a few days later. Took it to the dealer they said Valve body was sticking 5 days later it was replaced (and 36 mile of test driving!!) I picked up the truck and an hour later the check engine was back on!
Took it back to the dealer the next day (10 hours later) I had a brand new computer! Boy does the truck run different much much better in fact!!
They said they had to replace the valve body first under waranty because it is cheaper but they knew it wouldn't fix the problem!
Oh well I hope this helps at least one person out there in the great land of the F150 forum!
