I got a question for the tranny gurus. Two weeks ago while I was driving through town I gave er a little gas just for fun and about 100 yards down when my truck tried shifting into overdrive it would just rev up and I wouldn't accelerate. What could be causing this problem and do you think it would be easier to just get it rebuilt or a remanned one from ford. this is on a 2002 lariat f150 with a 5.4 thank you for any thoughts.

 

Likely the OD band has snapped. Very easy fix. Pull the trans out of the truck, remove the pump assy. and the band is right there. Easy peasy!!

 

Alright thanks I'll prolly have a shop do it because transmissions and parts of the engine are things I dont touch. Everything else I do. But thanks and I'll post my finding.
