Palerider--message for you

Hi Palerider

I want to thank you for posting the information about the vibration. I took my truck to the dealer today and they did verify the vibration, new parts on order.
I hope they didn`t reprogram your computer. I have a copy of the TSB, >quote< reprogram the powertrain control module (pcm) the updated calibration will reduce the maximum top speed of the vehicle to reduce the possibility of vibration. I thought you might be interested in this information. The shop foreman told me about this before i read the TSB, he is not going to reprogram my computer, but he wants to know if the replacement fix the problem. I just thought you might be interested in this information.

Have a good day.

Larry.

speeder / re reprogram

Hey there speeder-

Well, it's kind of interesting. Like I said, I have a definite performance boost after the new, lighter driveshaft Ford installed behind the extension housing. But they did state that they reprogrammed the ECM. But the truck still does 100+. So, I guess I'm now wondering what the hell they did to my computer!
Oh well. By the way, make sure that they check out that EGR valve- dollars to your donuts it's bad.

Thumbs down EGR

Hey Palerider

I told the shop foreman about the idle surge and that the EGR might be bad. Well im sure you know how ford is, if they can`t find a code in the computer or it does`nt act up for them, then there is no problem, and they won`t replace it until they verify that the part is bad. Thats kind of funny, they took my truck out and drove it at 90 mph to verify the vibration.

Take it easy.

Larry.
