Manual Transmission - Knocking Sound?

Take a listen for yourself.. I have no idea what it might be but I'm certainly curious. Any ideas? Shifting doesn't seem any different than in the past either.

That knocking/tick noise has been present for quite some time but it seems that lately it's growing ever louder. It's especially noticeable in a drive thru for example with the echoing. It's definitely coming from the transmission itself but I have no idea what the issue might be. This occurs only at idle, and goes away once I'm moving. "

Have you checked your driveshaft? Maybe the yolk that goes to the transmission is in trouble. Ive got the same transmission, later today i will take a look at a complete breakdown diagram and see what i can find.

Throw out bearing. Does it go away when you push the clutch in?? When mine had that noise it would go away when I push the clutch in or drive and it was the throw out bearing.

If I push the clutch in the noise persists, only once I get moving does it stop.

I'll crawl under tomorrow and take a closer look at everything. It does seem to vibrate more at idle than in the past as well, so maybe something is off on the drive shaft. I'll certainly look into that.

If it persists with the clutch pushed in, it's not in the tranny, it's in front of it. You may have a loose flywheel or some other problem with the clutch.

Here's another clip. The sound does go away once I get going, or at the very least quiets down enough to where I don't notice it. I know when it starts to get chilly the sound remains just as loud at all speeds, and will fade away once the truck warms up (after a lot of shifting in town) but once I'm on the straight away for awhile the noise will persist. This makes me wonder what the transmission fluid looks like.. The rattle when I shut it off seems a bit unusual as well. Any further suggestions?

It sounds like the throw out bearing.
