Transmission Done
So Thursday night while pulling my 32 foot camper my transmission went out. My truck is a 2007 F150 with 49000 miles on it. Thankfully it still is covered under the power train warranty unless the dealership finds some reason they can void the warranty.
Just wandering if anyone else has had any transmission issues?

Would definitely rather have a SD, but pretty sure my truck is rated to tow around 9000lbs and my camper is a good 2000lbs less than that. On top of that I do not pull it thet often and usually less than 150 miles.
Pulling a 32 foot trailer aint that bad for it but the fact that u have 35s and stock gears makes it even worse. the 35s and stock gears is alone enough to kill a tranny. the dealer may void the warrentee due to the big tires but i really dont know. when u get a new tranny u need a big aftermarket transmission cooler if you want your next transmission to last and you need to upgrade your gears to 456s.
New transmission here
I posted my transmission experience last week and have updated it since. I have 74k on my 2007 lariat and I haven't towed much of anything. Reverse started to go an then I started experiencing slippage when attempting to hit passing gear which resulted in a horrific slamming into gear....I asked for quotes on an OEM transmission replacement and two different built transmissions with shift kits and upgraded stall converters. As I am out of warranty I had to eat the cost, however I was informed that in the local shops experience, either these transmissions (4R75E) last a long time or tank before 100k. I suppose you could say that about anything but we can digress later.
I went with a "stage 1" built transmission designed for "modest" increases in power such as the Factory supercharger kits and what not. I was told the stage 1 is good for quite a bit more power (650 flywheel hp and 800 foot pounds of torque seems a bit above modest). I have about 400 miles on the new transmission so far and I love it. Super crisp shifts, phenomenal holding power in OD, and zero delay in shifts from one gear to another no matter what throttle angle I am at.
$2612.41 w. 24 month unlimited mileage warranty.

Mr. Transmission
Local shop here in Spring (suburb of Houston). They charge a flat $395 to drop the transmission and then tack on the cost of parts. They provided me a QR code for $100 off the $395 and then %20 off parts. The owner has an open door policy and invited me to view the internals of the old transmission prior to the rebuild. I have about 600 miles on it now with no issues, just a big grin on my face. I really cant believe the difference in performance. There was always a significant delay from 1-2 and 2-3. Now it flies through the gears, no hunting around, just wham, bam, thank you ma'am and off I go.
Someone asked me if I noticed an increase in gas mileage. This tank will not reflect any sort of increase as I cant keep my foot out of it.
I will let you know after the next tank

I have a built tranny and it shifts fine for light throttle putting but if I put it to the boards it his second so hard I would not want to be my u joints or diff. It'll acually spin the tire. Bit other than that I love the tranny. Shifts much firmer and has a nice big new cooler too. I just can't imagine shifting that hard is good for the truck. But since I rarely go over 2k Rpms It is workin for me. With my tune it is set up for low rpm and I love it. I don't go over 2 and I'm right with traffic and get up to speed with quick shifts and my trailer seems lighter after these mods too
