HELP PLEASE!! my 2005 f150 has really high rpms all of a sudden

All of a sudden the other day my transmission malfuncion light came on, I pulled it over and turned the truck off and I turn it back on and the light was off and I went to put it in reverse and it wouldnt go, so I stomped it and it like kicked back into gear and it has been fine. Up till yesterday I can be going 40-50 mph and the rpms all of a sudden SHOOT up past 3000k....

I just got my true dual exhaust put on and I have a superchip, I have had a superchip for several moths and had it on performance mode and was only using 87 octane, and I didnt know I had to use 91.

Any help please?? any

Set the tuner back to stock and see if you can duplicate the issue.

If the trans failure light comes on, you need to read out the codes. A low end scanner or a programmer can't read transmission codes, you need to go to a shop.

I know.

my dad had the same problem with his gran marquis patrol car a few weeks back, the exact same problem, and it ended up being some plug or wire or something that had to be replaced and then its been fine, hopefully they can find out whats wrong.
