2011 ecoboost hard shift

My fx4 supercrew has an occassional hard shift. I mean like something is going to break if it does it again. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience. thanks

What gears does it shift hard into/out of? More info please. I have a kick 1-2 and a shuddering 4-3 and it is going in very soon for a friction clutch plate pack replacement per Ford.

Usually 3 to 4 gear but I think it has done it from 2 to 3 also. Its like a stutter and then it slams the next gear. It also down shifts hard from 4 to 3 once and awhile.

I really hate how my 11 EB shifts most of the time. Happens the worst when I'm putzing around. it will kick in the 1-2, 2-3 then after you've gone down a bigger hill and I get up to 30+mph (I'm in 5th gear now) it will have a jerky 5-4 shift as I decellerate.

Then because the truck is programmed to slow down (mine doesn't coast at all. Let off the gas = truck slows itself down, no rolling) Because the truck slows down so much sometimes I have to get on the gas a tiny bit around 25 mph and then when I let off and it wants to do a 4-3 shift it will jerk and sometimes clunk into 3rd gear. Atleast once a week I'll put it in reverse to back out of my garage and the thing just sits and revs up when I hit the gas. Then it slowly starts to creep. I have to slam on the breaks because I'm worried it will shoot out into something if it were to fully go into gear with the RPMs that high. The worst part is that it is all so random. The'd just have to drive it for a week and experience it.

I'm really upset especially since I switched brands. I had incredible service and the GMC dealership, he would have taken care of this a long time ago.

The shop mgr at the dealership is poophead. Always an excuse like I'm a picky idot. "that's normal" "nothing we can do" "give it time to learn how you drive". He's the type of guy that won't do anything until it destroys itself then he'll fix it but will bill you for some of the repairs.

They reflashed it (I don't know if the did both or just one PCM,TCM) it took away the severity of the clunking but it still shifts jerky most of the time.

Any ideas?!! I love everything else about this truck, it is incredible. I just wish the shop mgr would just try to fix it but he's more concerned about who's gonna pay for the shop time than he is about making things right.

And I'm not going to pay to have someone a ton of money to repair a new truck because all they could do is "guess" at what was wrong.

Love to have some help here guys...thanks.

IMO,If the guy called me a picky idiot i would complain to his boss or the Dealerships owner. If that doesn't help try a different dealer or call Fords main office and complain. So far knock on wood i haven't had that problem in my truck yet.

Later Mark.

I having the same issue with my '11 F-250 SD. It slams shifts from 4th to 5th. Took to the dealer twice and they just keep trying to re-program it. It never quits doing it and they can't figure out why. I had an '02 truck that did the same thing and they replaced the solenoid for that shift and fixed it, but they are saying they can't do the same for this truck. Why not! Programming sure not helping. I have had Ford trucks since the 80's but I'm about fed with some of these supposed "technicians" that they have at the dealerships. And they won't even call for regional support unless you make them. Sad.

You need to find a new dealer.
