Problem with 99 Ranger

PLEASE HELP! I have a 99 Ranger 5-speed and it is beginning to jerk while driving and accelerating. It feels like something is catching in the rear, possibly the transmission. Is this possible? It is like its almost slipping out of gear but not completely. Please help!

First step - check the trans fluid level. Ensure the trans is at normal operating temperature, with the engine running, gear shift in Park. Miles? I got about 120k out of my '99 Ranger before the trans decided to act up - then it was off to the Lemon Lot...

Is this a 5 speed manual or a 5R55E automatic?
