Got a 97 4.6l 5 spd manual that sometimes doesnt want to come out of reverse, then when I get it out it will not go into first justs grinds. Doesnt happen all the time, once in first will shift great. Clutch was replaced about year and half ago and pretty much was happening from the start. Any help would be great.

 

Is the clutch engaging real close to the floor? Bleed the clutch hydraulic system.

 

No clutch seems normal. Have been noticing every once in a while while stopped with clutch pushed in, truck still wants to go forward like clutch is still engaged. Not enough to stall but just a little.

 

Sticky pilot bearing. Whoever changed the clutch probably didn't replace it.
