Has anyone installed an LED that will come on when the TC is locked? Some guys on the diesel board seem to have done this, along with a switch to lock the TC manually.

I think that would be great to be able to lock and unlock the TX manually. Too many times I've tried to nail it to get up a hill or pass someone and the dang thing locks, and although it pulls, I do get the quick acceleration I'd like.

I know what you mean. There's a fair amount of information on Ford-Diesel.com but it all pertains to the 4R100 trans. It's a very simple hook up to install an LED and switch but I need the schematic for the 4R70W. If anyone can post a schematic I'd be a big help.

My schematic shows the same for the 4R100 and 4R70W. Circuit 480 VT/YE for the TCC solenoid. The 4R70W TCC also works in the same way as the 4R100 one. Power is provided via the battery junction box and the ground is switched by the PCM. I have the 2001 workshop CD (Nov 2000, v5.0) so if anyone wants the schematic give me your email address. I will be out of town for about 1.5 weeks starting in about 15 minutes so it'll take a while for me to get 'em to you. Let me know...

Thanks. I just sent you my e-mail address. I think this could be a very useful mod. Knowing when the TC is locked could help in diagnosing transmission problems and manual control of the TC might help performance in some situations.
