can anyone here tell me if the 4.6l 4r70w 4x4 transmission that i have on my 200 Ford F150...is it used on any other Ford vehicles...like the 5.4l F150...or the 5.0 Explorer(97-2000) or the expedition(96-2000)... i am looking for a use transmission in Hawaii for my F150 and cant find one...searching options. Is it difficult to rebuild one yourself....lol

they came in lots of trucks and expeditions. My 99 has one and I have the 5.4. You would need special tools to rebuild one yourself the best bet is to search the local classified to find a guy who does it out of his garage.

You will need a bit of experience to rebuild like he said. A 4x4 expedition of the same year model may very well have the same trans. You are pretty much limited to f150s and expeditions as far as I know. If you end up spending some money on it, I highly recommend monster transmission. I dont know if they ship out to hawaii, but I havent checked either. I think they stock rebuilds are pretty close to $1k
