New trans valve body is in!
Install was pretty straight forward. Some clutch materal & two or three small flakes of metal. I've seen worse.
The hardest part was getting the snap ring in the 1-2 accum while holding the spring loaded cap on. Ended up using a bottle jack and a socket extention to hold the cap up while inserting the snap ring. I think i must have checked all 25 bolts 10 times before i was sure i had them all torqed. I was sure the 2-3 accum would be the hardest part, but i got it on the first try.
As part of the install i added a larger B&M deep trans pan. The pan holds 3 qts extra so it took 11 qts to fill it back up! At $5 a qt that hurt a bit.
Two things with the pan:
First its made to fit 4r70*, AOD, & AODE transmissions. To fit the others it has a plug that fills an extra hole. I put plummers tape on it, but its leaking a super small amount. On monday i'll get some liquid thread seal, drain down the pan a little to remove the plug, and seal it up for good.
2nd the two rear bolts have little to no clearance to install. A VERY long allen wrench is needed to clear the pan & trans mount. I ended up cutting the angle off the longest one i had and using a qtr inch socket on the end. Worked pretty well.
I installed a couple e-fans on the trans cooler as well, but with the pan my temps are pegged in the 160's (factory bypass) now so not sure i'll need them now. Maybe towing in the summer? The supercharger goes on in the next week or two so might need them then.
Oh yeah for those that might be wondering if they can do it or not. I am legally blind and i did it. Unfortunately my wife gets to do all the driving;(
