i have a 98 f-150 that needs a trans. the trans. in it has 14 bolts in the pan i bought a trans. it has 20 bolts in the pan. will it bolt right in or do i need to change something?

 

the trans you bought is an e40d / 4r100 depending on what year truck it came out...this is a very stout trans BUT will not even come close to bolting in. If you are 4wd its way more work than its worth, if you are 2wd you will need a computer from the truck that the trans came from, different wiring harness, different / modify your driveline and all the correct lines, wiring, and shift cable.

I am doing this swap myself but I have the complete running donor and am 2wd so Im basically swapping the entire drivetrain into my truck. If you want to put that trans in you are in for a lot of work.
