Self Adjusting Clutch or Not?

Is it really necessary (or preferred way) to buy a self adjust clutch vice the standard? About a 50.00 difference, would think the hyd slave would take up any slack??

Haven't heard of that term ever, what clutches are you looking at?

Autozone sells a Self adjusting clutch (SAC) set for 230.00 or a non-self adjusting for 185.00. Wanting to find out if spending the extra 50.00 is really beneficial or needed.

From personal experience, I'd recommend an OEM clutch set - you can buy it from rockauto.com or tascaparts.com.

I have had both. Currently using a non adjustable with a Kevlar disk. Mine do not last long enough to notice if one is better than the other.
