Any ZF 6 out of a superduty as long as it is from behind a 5.4 or 6.8. The part number for the one I have is in my 4th picture. Here it is also

So looks like this project is gonna be put on hold for a bit. Just found out this morning that I am deploying here at the end of the month.
As for Bansheeman6100 try this site. http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_cata...rhaul_kit.html

That I am. I am an aircraft mechanic on the C-5, C-17, and KC-10. For this trip I'll be going to UAE and play with the KC-10's. Thank you and I will do that.

Well good luck. In in CA eight now, by the time I'm deplorable though I'll be an MP. And thanks for the link, I seem to be having a hard time finding the right parts though

Another thought would to be to try advanced adapters. They might have what you need.

So got back and been super busy with all sorts of different things. But got my BL on and getting ready to pull the old tranny and stuff but thought I would measure first. Looks like I am going to have to look at some minor modification to the crossmember that holds the torsion bars or go with a suspension lift sooner then I had planned. I will try to get some pictures. The ZF6 with transfer case is a couple inches longer which puts the transfer case right in the middle of the torsion bar crossmember. But other then that unforseen snag it looks like it will go well once I get moved and can work on it more than a couple hours here and there.

So does that mean that you will need longer torsion bars and would that be what getting a suspension lift would accomplish?

I am gonna look into the option of longer torsion bars. Yes the suspension lift will do the torsion bars. It lowers the crossmember so it sits below the frame. If you want let me know and I will get a picture to show you.

Yea if you have a pic I would love to see that, also does it look like it is going to fit where the shifter goes or do you think you will have to move somethings around there. also what about the 4x4 shift linkage how does that area look

You should be able to use the torsion bars from an F150 or an Expedition that was equipped with the 4R100 transmission. The 4R100 is a few inches longer than the 4R70W and a little heavier, therefore the torsion bars are a few inches longer and are better equipped to handle the weight of a ZF6. Alot of trucks actually have the holes predrilled in the frame and all you have to do is exchange the torsion bars and move the the crossmember back. I know my '03 has the holes.
One thing you need to be aware of when using 4R100 bars or any longer bars is that you may run into problems when installing a suspension lift. Since the torsion bar crossmember is moved farther away from the IFS crossmember, the support bars that connect the IFS drop crossmember to the torsion bar crossmember will not be long enough. This is why most lifts specify the 4R70W transmission. Maybe somebody makes a lift specifically for the trucks equipped with 4R100's, i've never checked.
Personally, when I go to install my Fabtech 6" lift, I will be modifying the support bars and making their length adjustable.
Keep us updated on your progress, I'm actually in the parts collecting phase of a ZF6 swap right now on my '03. I just bought a '97 for a DD while I do the conversion.

Sorry guys. Been swamped at work and trying to find a new place to move to. So haven't really worked on it cause I don't want it completely apart during my move. I did see the holes and was wondering about getting longer t bars. But like you said I do want to lift so I am just gonna go that way. Plus everytime I go to the dealer about torsion bars they always ask for spring codes and I don't have those from different trucks. The shifter and all my transfer case linkage looks like it is all gonna line up to where my two holes in the floor are already so that will be nice.

You actually have the choice of 24, 31 or 34. And to really make it exciting, Dodge uses the same case with 29 splines....
