Clunking on the Last Downshift
First post here... I was pointed here by some guys on another site.
My truck (2007 F-150 XLT Crew Cab, 5.4L V-8, 43K miles) is making a clunking sound on the last downshift right before you come to a stop. I am guessing this is the downshift into 2nd gear. BUT... it only does when the engine gets good and warm. It does not do it for the first 10-12 miles. Or, if I go 25 miles on the freeway and get off, it does not do it. But if I sit in traffic, sit at too many lights, sit at a drive-thu, etc. then it will start up. I live in Arizona. I first noticed this beginning earlier in the summer. Any ideas? Thanks!
