How long can you drive with a thrust bearing issue. The tranny shop told me that my thrust bearings in first gear are going. It's an auto and I just had it rebuilt 2 years ago ($2400). It started making a very loud whining noise about 2 moths ago. He's telling me that the guy probably replaced everything but those. Thanks alot a******! He wants $1500 to replace the bearing with no warranty or $2500 to give me a rebuit one. (I'm assuming the right way this time). Btw, this is a different shop than the one before. I may torch the other guys after this is all said and done. I may just drive the truck into the lake and go get a Tundra. It's a 2004 Heritage 4.2L and it has 80,000 on it. This will be the 2nd tranny! Am I missing something here? Is that normal? I have babied this truck since I bought it off the dealership floor. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help!
