trannsmission swap in a 78 f150

hey guys,
i have a 1978 f150 that im restoring and im dropping in a 390. it has a 300 straight six with a 4 speed manual right now. i would like to put another manual in it, preferably a 5 speed. i dont know too much about transmissions, does anyone have any ideas on what i should use?

sounds like you would be looking for adapter kits to fit a newer style trans to an older engine. i'm sure it could be done but may require an adapter

If anything, it would have to be something heavy duty such as a ZF - the Mazda M5OD won't hold up behind a 390.
