I've driven a lot of vehicles in my career, and 90% of them Fords (four were Pintos!). This is the first one I've had do this, though it is my first F150 with an auto. Had it been cold enough to act this way when I test drove it, it would have kept me from buying it - but so long as it's normal I can live with it. I like almost everything else about the truck.
