04 F150 Tranny Problems

I took my 04 F150 to the shop yesterday for a shudder I was having while shifting into OD. A month ago I had replaced the starter, the power steering (for a whine that was heard) and the fuel pump. The whine was still there so the shop replaced the idler pulley under warranty.( Turns out they should have replaced the pulley and not the power steering pump) They checked the truck before doing an inspection and said the shudder will disappear with a flush, the check engine light was from a cam sensor. Mechanic did say he hears a "zipper" noise in the engine - not all the time - just some of the time and said it will be $4000 to replace. I picked it up from the shop and it ran like the first day I picked it up from the dealer. Is it possible any of these problems were caused by the idler pully being so bad? What would you do? It has 91K.

I would get a second opinion If I were you. Too many times mechanics can't find the actuall problem and just say you need a new motor. Maybe you do, but It could be something else that would be a fraction of that cost. Did you go to a dealership or a someone else?
