1993 fluid

Hello. I want to change the transmission fluid in a 93 150 xl. It has a manual 5 speed. Probably has never been changed, 150,xxx miles. Have no owners manual. Do I use merc V? And how much approx. please. Thanks in advance.

F-150's did not have the ZF. You have the M5OD and it takes 7.7 pints of Mercon/Mercon V, *NOT* Dexron.

Shoot, that thing ain't gonna care what hydro fluid is in there, just as long as it's in there. Generic Mercon works fine for mine.

For 93, no ZF, you are correct there, but not entirely as you could get late 80s 300 F1fiddys with the S5-42. Haven't found an example of a 90s yet.

You asked what you are SUPPOSED to put in there, and that answer is Mercon/Mercon V. Hell, it would probably work with soapy water. I know people who put GM Synchomesh in them.
