I have a 1999 F-150 with automatic transmission. It has a whining noise at idle when in gear which stops when I put it in neutral or park. Any ideas?

 

I have the same thing going on with my 2004 F150. I asked the guys that i always take my truck to what it could be and they were certain it was my power steering pump. I have not changed it yet but i will keep you posted.
