i have an 05 f150 fx4. the tranny makes a clunking noise only downshifting between 2nd and1st.sometimes bangs between gears.it has 89000 miles and i have serviced the trans at 50 and 75 000 miles.what might it be and how hard is it to rebuilkd this tranny?i am a diesel tech but not much experiance on small trannys

 

Hard to say, I have the xlt, dont know anything about the transm. but I know i have a clunk when using 4wd at times, just during the initial shift, and remember it being much smoother when I originally bought the truck only 30k miles ago.
