trans bucking in od

i have a 2001 screw 4x4 5.4l 161k miles. Recently around 40-50mph with just a little gas to keep speed, it seems like its bucking. like it cant decide if it wants over drive or not, so ive been driving around with overdrive off, and it seem to help till last it was doing it with od off.

i searched but not much turned up, some people say it needs plugs, but if its missfiring wouldnt a cel come on.

any suggestions?

Go with Motorcraft OEM plugs (SP479), and go to Ebay to get your coils. Search for DG508 and buy them from Global Automotive or Uneek Supply. A full set should be no more than 80 bucks shipped.

Another note - do NOT use antiseize on the plug threads and torque them to 28 ft/lb - and use dielectric grease inside the coil boots.

My truck did the same thing... replaced coil & plug on CYL1, good to go.
