Locking Differential?

I have a 2008 XLT and I was wondering if I have a locking differential. I'm almost positive I don’t. But I was just wondering if I could install one because I go into the mountains to shoot a lot and some of the roads are pretty sketchy and I don’t like driving in 4 wheel all the time. I kind of new to the whole truck scene, however I do have some pretty sweet mods I’m waiting to put on my truck. Anyways anything helps! Thanks.

What does the Axle code say on your door sticker? You may have a limited slip differential but you do not have a locker.

It says 19 under axel but I’m sure that doesn’t mean anything. I was in the mud the other day and one of my wheels was spinning' like crazy while the other was on the pavement and wasn’t moving. I don’t even know if I have limited slip. However I would really like to buy a locker and I just need someone to give me some ideas. Thanks.

no that's for a dana 30 rear end, you either have a ford 8.8 or ford 9.75 rear end, there is a tag on the back of the dif. pumpkin that will tell you the info.

they put 9.75 in half tons. if you have a 5.4 then its a 9.75.

if the diff cover is round then its an 8.8 if its more....not of a circle shape then its a 9.75. sorry i forget the amount of bolts each have on the diff cover
